Kathleen A. Fisher

Kathleen A. Fisher joined the firm of Graves Bartle Marcus & Garrett, LLC in 2008 after more than three years of service as an assistant prosecutor in Buchanan County. In her time as prosecutor, Ms. Fisher had the opportunity to try a wide variety of cases to juries including homicide, reckless exposure to HIV, statutory rape, attempt to manufacture methamphetamine, child endangerment, arson, felony driving while intoxicated and forgery. Ms. Fisher handled a significant felony caseload throughout her time in Buchanan County and exclusively handled all drug prosecutions at the conclusion of her tenure with the office. Ms. Fisher also wrote appellate briefs and argued before the Missouri Court of Appeals.

Ms. Fisher’s practice areas include white collar criminal defense in both state and federal courts and corporate law including internal investigations and corporate compliance. She represents clients in responding to grand jury subpoenas and handles criminal matters through investigation, indictment and trial stages. She has handled internal investigations on behalf of corporate clients and advised corporations on compliance issues. Ms. Fisher has attended national training seminars on criminal tax fraud and the federal sentencing guidelines.

Ms. Fisher was born and raised in St. Joseph, Missouri. She attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a degree in finance. While at Mizzou she was a member of the Honors College and the president of her sorority, Alpha Phi. Ms. Fisher attended law school at the University of Kansas. She participated in Moot Court and placed sixth overall in the school wide Moot Court Competition. During law school she also clerked for federal magistrate Judge David Waxse in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. Ms. Fisher received her Juris Doctorate from KU in 2005 and also received the CALI award for academic excellence.

Ms. Fisher currently lives in the northland area of Kansas City, Missouri with her husband, Jeff. She is a member of the Junior League of Kansas City and an active member of St. Therese Parish
